Three years after adevastating firedestroyed her home,Rachael Rayis helping others who have lost theirs to disaster in a brand new show.
OnRachael Ray’s Rebuild— her first series since sheended her talk show after 17 seasonsin March — the celebrity cook andKitchen Cousins’contractor Anthony Carrino team up to rebuild houses for families in need. It premieres Monday, October 23 on Hulu.
“I can say from personal experience that when disaster strikes your home, your life doesn’t change in an instant it changes forever,” Ray, 55, says in the trailer above, premiering exclusively with PEOPLE.

Ray’s New Yorkhome burned to the groundin a massive fire in 2020.
At the time, Ray tweeted to her fans thanking them for their well wishes, and showed gratitude to the firefighters who showed up to help.
“Thank you to our local first responders for being kind and gracious and saving what they could of our home,” shewrote. “Grateful that my mom, my husband [John Cusimano],my dog… we’re all okay.” She added: “These are the days we all have to be grateful for what we have, not what we’ve lost.”
The following year, during the season 16 premiere of theRachael Ray Show,the host provided her fans witha virtual tourof the rebuilt home.
“This is our house. It is really exciting to have a house rebuilt in a little over a year,“Ray explained. She tried to replicate and recreate her home to be exactly as it was prior to the fire. It’s “back to a fresh shell that is very much the same,” she said of the status, revealing that all that had been left of the house after the blaze was “just the hole in the ground.”

Of her mission on the new series, Ray explains, “I am going to help people who have lost their homes to a disaster. Because it’s not just your home, it’s your life that you’ve lost”

As Ray and Carrino conquer the rebuilds, they discuss why it’s important to make homes that are built “better” and aren’t just “about the aesthetics.”
The trailer concludes with a sneak peek into the recipients' reactions to their new homes, with Ray and Carrino grinning on the sidelines. “Who would ever think that the worst thing that could ever happen to you could actually be joyous later in your life,” says Ray.

Ray announced the end of her long-running daytime showRachaelin March.
“In my more than 20 plus years in television, I have had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television withRachael,” the30 Minute Mealsstar, 54, says in a statement to PEOPLE Friday. “However, I’ve made the decision that it’s time for me to move on to the next exciting chapter in my broadcast career.”
