Shannon Beadorwas sentenced after her arrest for alleged DUI hit and run in September.
TheReal Housewives of Orange Countystar, 59, was sentenced to three years of probation and 40 hours of community service, PEOPLE confirms. She will also be required to complete a nine-month alcohol program. Beador also has to pay restitution for the house damage from the incident, which she has already done.
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer was pushing for a harsher punishment for the Bravo star including 30 days in jail, according toTMZ, who first to report the news.
Beador was not in attendance at the hearing on Thursday morning but her attorneys pleaded no contest to one of the charges on her behalf.
Spitzer did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment. However, Beador’s attorney Michael L. Fell shared a statement with PEOPLE on her behalf.
“Shannon pleaded no contest/nolo contenderethis morning to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving when she had a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office argued that Shannon should be sentenced to jail and be convicted of DUI and a hit-and-run. But after receiving legal arguments from both sides, the judge denied the prosecutor’s request and dismissed the hit-and-run,” the statement began.
“In so ruling, the judge acknowledged that Shannon had made full restitution to the homeowner in this matter, who did not desire prosecution, and admitted her wrongdoing at an early stage of the proceedings. As we first reported she would, Shannon took full responsibility for her actions and accepted the judge’s sentence of 40 hours of community service, 9 months of alcohol classes and the standard three years of unsupervised/informal probation,” she continued. “Shannon states: ‘I am grateful that no one else was injured besides me in this incident. I have learned so much from my terrible mistake that night and realize that driving any distance while impaired is too far.'”

The reality star had a .24 blood alcohol level, which is three times the legal limit, law enforcement officials toldTMZ.
The Newport Beach Police Department previously confirmed to PEOPLE that Beador was “arrested at 1:17 a.m. on Sept. 17after fleeing the scene from a collision that caused property damage.” The reality star was booked on two misdemeanors — hit and run and DUI alcohol — and released on a citation, per NBPD.
“She is extremely apologetic and remorseful,” Fell stated at the time. “We will be awaiting the official information on this case as it becomes available, and Shannon is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”
That same day, Beador’s friend and fellow Bravo starJeff Lewisaddressed the situation on his SiriusXM talk show, admitting he was “shocked” and that her actions were uncharacteristic.
“Unfortunately [Shannon] got a DUI on Saturday night. She was also in a car accident. She was injured, so she’s going to be recovering,” Lewis, 53, shared. “Shannon and I have been friends for a very long time. I was shocked — she called me yesterday and we talked for awhile — and I was shocked because I’ve never known Shannon to ever, ever drink and drive.”
“I will tell you she’s accepting full accountability,” he continued. “She is ashamed, she’s embarrassed.”
