John LegendandChrissy Teigenknow how to get the tears flowing.
While chatting exclusively with PEOPLE about his partnership withPfizerand encouraging people to get this season’s latest COVID vaccine, the singer, 44, also opens up about his10-year wedding anniversary celebrationswith his wife, and how they had guests reaching for the tissues.
“Our speeches had everybody in tears,” Legend says. “Chrissy spoke first, and the whole room was just weeping. And then I was able to speak and sing to her.”
According to Legend, he brought his four kids —Luna Simone, 7,Miles Theodore, 5,Esti Maxine, 10 months, andWren Alexander, 4 months — onstage, so they could perform a rendition of his tune “It Don’t Have to Change,” which is off of his first album,Get Lifted.
“It’s a song that we sing together as a Stephens family, and that was pretty magical,” he says.

Legend and Teigen, who tied the knot on Sept. 14, 2013, kicked off their 10-year anniversary celebrations last month with a brunch at Villa Pizzo, the site of their first wedding ceremony in Lake Como, Italy.
Later during the event, “[John and Chrissy] came out onto a balcony and greeted all the guests,” the insider noted, explaining that Legend also “held a brief speech later, after the dinner."
“There was dancing and there was a lakeside bar that was a big favorite. The food was appreciated,” the source continued, adding that there were “flowers everywhere” at the romantic celebration, calling it a “very elegant, very classic event.”

Continuing to chat with PEOPLE, Legend shares more details about his and Teigen’s special day.
“We wrote speeches for each other where we reflected on our love, our 10 years of being married and the family we’ve grown,” he details. “It was really a beautiful celebration.”
Noting that he is “going through the photos right now to put together a little book to commemorate” the event, the “All of Me” crooner says, “It really was a magical time.”
“I think the biggest difference between our wedding and our anniversary celebration was the fact that we have four kids now, so being able to celebrate it with them there was pretty amazing,” he continues of the couple’s four children.
“We got pretty emotional just seeing them there,” the proud dad adds.
