Henry Cavillis sharing his thoughts on sex scenes in film.
On Monday’s episode of theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast alongside hisArgylledirectorMatthew Vaughn, the actor said of sex scenes, “I don’t understand them — I’m not a fan.”
“There are circumstances where a sex scene actuallyisbeneficial to a movie, rather than just the audience … [but] I think sometimes they’re overused these days," continued Cavill, 40. “It’s when you have a sense that you’re going, ‘Is thisreallynecessary, or is it just people with less clothing on?’ ”.
He added, “That’s when you start to get more uncomfortable and you’re thinking, ‘There’s not a performance here. There’s not a piece which is going to carry through to the rest of the movie.' "

While he believes “sex scenes can be great in a movie” and “really help with the storytelling,” theJustice Leaguestar added, “Most of the time, human imagination is gonna trump it.”
Back in 2015, Cavill admitted in an interview withMen’s Fitnessthat he oncegot aroused filming a racy scene, recalling of the “embarrassing” incident, “A girl had to be on top of me, she had spectacular breasts, and I hadn’t rearranged my … stuff into a harmless position. She’s basically rubbing herself all over me, um, it got a bit hard.”
“I had to apologize profusely afterward,” theTudorsstar continued. “It’s not great when you’re in a professional acting environment and somebody gets a boner, is it? No, not acceptable.”
