Gwyneth Paltrowhas a surprising guilty pleasure.

She acknowledged, though, that she might not be the ideal candidate for the job. “But I’m not that good at survival, so a very short cameo,” Paltrow said with a laugh.
While Paltrow might not seem like the type to aspire to survive in the wilderness on her own,the series is actually a well-known favorite amongst many stars.

Danson, 75, toldE!it was “kind of a brilliant pandemic show” while Brosnahan praised it as both “insane” and “inspiring.”
“I mean, it’s incredible survivalists just making it out in the wild,” Brosnahan, 33, said. “It’s completely insane, but inspiring to watch people have such a deep connection to the land. And I think at a time when we’re all like, ‘Should we move into the boonies and learn how to live that way,’ it’s been inspiring.”

The survival show pits 10 trained survival experts against each other as they compete to see who can survive in the wilderness for the longest time. The winner goes home with $500,000.
Unlike many similar survival shows, there are no challenges or tasks for the contestants — aside from keeping themselves alive.
The contestants also self-document their journeys as they navigate life completely isolated from each other and all other humans, as well as responsible for their food, shelter and health. Before joining, they are warned that the show could last for up to a year.
The first six seasons, the winners lasted between 56 and 87 days, and in seasons 7 and 8 the winners lasted 74 and 78 days, respectively.
Season 7 featured a twist as the participants faced the most grueling challenge in series history: 100 days in the Arctic.
