Hey , net geniuses . This has been bothering me during all my days as a “ sysadmin ” and just cropped up today . Say you have two web … 192.168.0.X , subnet mask 255.255.255.0 , gateway is 192.168.0.1 and 10.0.1.X , same subnet mask , 10.0.1.1 . essentially , in this face , it ’s an Apple Airport as the gateway and non - Apple net running wired . Now say I wanted one of the 192.168.0.X machine , say 192.168.0.25 , to connect to the Apple gateway to use some of the AirTunes feature and to surcharge up with another laptop computer on the Airport web .
