After releasing her 49th solo album —Rockstar —earlier this month, the country legend, 77, has broken a new record.
Rockstar, which opened at the No. 3 spot, marks Parton’s highest charting album ever on theBillboard200 charts.
“Wow, this is a big thrill!” Parton said in a statement. “I owe a thank you to the fans who have always been there for me. Their support made this achievement possible. I’d also like to thank my producer Kent Wells, all the wonderful artists, musicians, and engineers who brought their talents to this project.”
Prior to the release of her latest LP, the “9 to 5” musician had only earned two top 10 titles, only climbing to the No. 6 spot on the charts.
She initially entered the top 10 of theBillboard200 alongsideLinda Ronstadtand Emmylou Harris with their 1987 collaborative albumTrioand then returned to it in 2014 with her 44th solo albumBlue Smoke.

Rockstaris also Parton’s biggest debut week ever and biggest sales week in 30 years, according to a press release. The album debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Top Rock Albums, Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Billboard Top Country Albums, Billboard Top Album Sales, Billboard Top Current Album Sales, and Billboard Independent Albums charts, as well as No. 2 on Billboard Vinyl Albums and #2 on Billboard Tastemaker Albums charts.
The Grammy winner unveiled her latest albumRockstaron Nov. 17, and the 30-track set features both covers and original songs as well as collaborations with artists includingPaul McCartney,Ringo Starr,Elton John,Pink,Brandi Carlile,Melissa EtheridgeandSting, among others.

Rockstarfollows Parton’s 2022 LPRun, Rose, Runand comes just a year after the hitmaker wasinductedinto theRock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Last year, the “Coat of Many Colors” artist spoke to PEOPLE aboutbeing inspired to create a rock album— both for herself and for husband of nearly 57 years,Carl Thomas Dean,a lifelong rock fan.
“I’m doing the rock ‘n’ roll album because of him,” she said. “I had often thought about doing a rock ‘n’ roll album for him with his favorite songs. And so when this all came about, I decided that I am gonna go ahead and do it. … It was just the perfect storm. OK, it’s time.”

On Nov. 23, she took the stage at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show where she performed her beloved classic “Jolene,” before transitioning to her hit “9 to 5.” She also performed her cover of Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”
