A woman who clung to a car hood to save her beloved French bulldog has gotten the attention of the Los Angeles Police Department after going viral.
Ali Zacharias toldKTLAthat she was eating lunch outside a Los Angeles Whole Foods with her dog Onyx on Jan. 18 when a woman she didn’t know grabbed his leash and began walking away.
“I didn’t think that somebody was stealing my dog. I thought it was a misunderstanding, so I said, ‘That’s my dog. Excuse me,’ and she wasn’t listening,” Zacharias told the news station.

After Zacharias followed the woman to a white KIA Forte four-door sedan, she allegedly pushed her out the doors and locked her out, leading Zacharias to jump on top of the hood in an attempt to stop it from leaving.
Zacharias told KTLA that she remembered seeing four people inside the car and recalled it going “faster and faster.”

Harrison Pessy told theLos Angeles Timesthat he was heading home and heard “the screeching of the car and screaming,” prompting him to begin filming the now-viralvideoof Zacharias clinging to the hood as the car speeds off.
Pessy told the news organization that the vehicle’s driver “had slammed on the brakes and was literally trying to throw [Zacharias] off the car.”
Zacharias told KTLA she is offering a reward for his safe return, describing him as a “black Merle French bulldog with a spotted coat and different-colored eyes,” whom she considers her “child.”
The LAPD has identified two suspects, per the release. One suspect is described as a Black woman, approximately 25 years old, wearing a “gray hoodie, purple sweatpants, and black shoes.” The other is described as a Black male, also about 25 years old.
