If the thought of another nerdy reality competition TV series fills you with dread … well , that ’s kind of what the upcoming serial publication Bruce Campbell ’s Horrified is going for . The good news is , patently , that the impossibly magnetic Bruce Campbell will be involved . The bad news is everything else .
The show comes from King of the Nerds producers Craig Armstrong and Rick Ringbakk , which , if you watch out it , was less about celebrating and skewing swot polish and more about reward stereotype that adult who love comics , superheroes , video recording games , etc . , have no hope of ever work in polite society . Since revulsion is n’t incisively as equated with immaturity as nerdery is , hopefully Horrified will beat more to an actual secret plan show than just mock its contestants ? The concept is still being OK - tuned but I discover the contestants would go together , perhaps in a haunted star sign - type of residence , and will compete in a series of team and item-by-item challenge , with each sequence themed around a horror pigboat - writing style , like monster , sci - fi , psychological , zombi spirit , etc . , completed with decor , costume and ocular effects associated with that genre .
Like in King Of The Nerds , “ we hope to bring renown associate with that genre as judges ” in the respective episodes , Armstrong say . As for the contestant casting process , it also will be similar to King Of The Nerds , with the show looking for “ die - hard , obsessional , comic , bigger than life story lineament in the horror space . ”
That does n’t sound promising at all . Still , Bruce Campbell loves horror and appreciates the musical style ’s fan , even as he pokes merriment at them — so he ’s arrant for the show being describe here . Plus , he ’s been much , much , much more involved with fandom than the King of the Nerds hosts ever were , so it ’s entirely possible he wo n’t countenance the show to alien his horde of fans , his people ? Well , not only is his name on it , but he ’s producing it , too … Maybe he can prevent this show from being a disaster .
