As fans of Battlestar Galactica will withdraw , every episode began with a short synopsis : “ The Cylons were create by valet . The rebelled . They evolved . There are many copy . And they have a programme . ” But … did they ? Or was that just a prominent vexer ? turn out it ’s the latter , and now we hump why : because an executive producer think it voice cool .
At the ATX Television Festival , executive producer Ronald D. Moore and a fair amount of the mould reunited to reminisce about the show , which initiate with the atomic disintegration of the vast majority of the human race and set out more uncheerful from there . TheLos Angeles Times recappedthe major part of the panel , including the origin story of that little bit of text :
Moore tell this was , essentially , just something co - executive manufacturer David Eick thought sounded coolheaded , that audiences would lie with and that they could envision out after . They never did and , say Moore , “ For the next 14 geezerhood of my liveliness hoi polloi have ask me ‘ What was the plan ? ’ ” In short , “ There was no … programme . ”

Yeah , that became plain by the time that “ All Along the Watchtower ” started play .
It does n’t really change anything good or bad about the series . Some shows have a very rigorous vision that they execute , but most shows are adaptable to whatever the best version of the story is . That said , maybe a plan would have aid people empathize the finale better . Or at least prevented the time of year where Helo ( Tahmoh Penikett ) seemed to be switching line weekly .
