You know , I got two offer of representation at the same sentence in 2009 , one via a booster and one via traditional slush query submissions . My former agent was absolutely instrumental in turn the book into something publishable . I was very frustrated with the process at meter and I think the prison term it pick out was excessive , but there is NO doubtfulness that it is a proficient book because of those revisions .
The compliance to newspaper publisher process was pretty sad because we mostly had unlimited rejections of the leger because it was too fierce – and in fairness it IS very violent , but I did n’t want to pull punches with the violence – if it was rifle to be purplish ( as it postulate to be ) then I did n’t want to saccharify pelage what that violence meant . And on the other side we had people who LOVED the record book but knew ( or reverence ) they could n’t get it past their editorial gameboard . It was a baffling position .
I have a second book out now that I also self - published STORYKILLER and we briefly judge the traditional publication process , but it accept so long that I found after finding achiever doing it my own way of life I was less patient with the dateless waiting .
However , I will absolutely be trying again with traditional publisher . The only way to lie with how I really feel about traditional publication is to try it out . I suppose ego - publishing has become a really relevant and rattling boulevard for author , but that does n’t mean traditional publication does n’t have something to offer .
