I screwed up pretty badly a couple of week ago . Somebody had asked me if there was a way to toy console games using their laptop computer as a screen , and I suggested a USB 2.0 - based TV radio set , never consider about the lag between the output to the TV and the actual output on the display ( a trouble similar to that of many expensive digital TVs that do pre - processing ( post ? ) of the mental image , cause it to be delayed out of sync with the audio ) . So when I learn Everything USB ’s review of the ATI TV Wonder , that was pretty much the only question on my mind : could you play game on it ? The reply is still sort of “ no”—it ’s better than most , with a fast encode that gets the delay down to around half a second or so , but for many citizenry even that bit of slowdown will be enough to drive them crazy . As the processing hardware gets faster , this should become a non - issue , but for now it ’s an important matter to take down , I think .
Oh , and it ’s good for recording boob tube , too , I ’ve hear .
