We already know of two more spin - offs , one that’sofficially en routeandone thatmightbe happening , and now a 2d deed of conveyance in that latter category has a small update to share .
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms , which likeHouse of the Dragoninvolves the powerful Targaryen family , is set about 100 days beforeGame of Thrones ; it’sactively in productionand is slated to arrive on HBO in 2025 . Then , there’sTen Thousand Ships , a more ancient story of folks sub Queen Nymeria ; in June , Martin himself revealedthat Pulitzer - get ahead dramatist Eboni Booth is crafting a Modern pilot , though there ’s been no Book from HBO if the show is officially in development .
And that brings us to yet another likely whirl - off — no , not the Jon Snow show ; that one ’s off the table entirely — that aboveboard we ’d almost forgotten about , focusing on the first expectant Targaryen ruler , Aegon the Conqueror . He was the first Lord of the Seven Kingdoms , which think of he pre - dates by several generation his namesake , King Aegon II , whoHouse of the Dragonfans know very well . But his legacy ( and certain caparison of his sovereignty , like his brand , Blackfyre , and the outrageously immense skull of his dragon , Balerion ) loom large , specially in King ’s landing place .

The excitation of Aegon ’s Conquest is a rude choice for aThronesspin - off , and one of the creative creative thinker working on the potential show ( likeTen Thousand Ships , it is not yet HBO - official ) is Mattson Tomlin , who ’s currently cause the round promotingNetflix ’s unexampled Zanzibar copal seriesTerminator Zero . Nexus Point News(viaCollider ) asked Tomlin about his glide slope to writing the Aegon the Conqueror serial publication , which is seemingly taking its clue from the same Targaryen chronicle that ’s shapingHouse of the Dragon , Martin’sFire & Blood .
“ It starts with what George has done . I ’ve now gotten to spend quite a bit of time with him , and there have been a lot of pinch - me moments of just kind of going throughFire & Blood , highlighting transition , and asking him , ‘ What did this mean ? What is this ? ’ What I think it is . You know sometimes really grilling him , going , ‘ I do n’t realize , what ’s happening here . ’ And then other times get going , ‘ I think that it could mean this . ’ But it ’s really rent that text and treating it like it ’s real history , ” he explained .
“ … My glide slope to it was [ that]Fire & Bloodis written like a substantial story and these things happen … but then also there ’s that great quote that somebody much smarter than I said : history is written by the people who win , ” Tomlin extend . “ And so then there ’s that as well . For me , it ’s about making sure that I abide by George and I respect the schoolbook . And then also , it still has to be a dramatic history . Those character have to go on a journey ; they have to change ; they have to go from a beginning to a middle to an goal . Figuring out how to do all of that with the clues that that textbook has left for me and go , okay , I ’m going to interpret this very real history and stress to make it a really bright show that hopefully people love and do n’t detest , doing the best I can . ”
